Whisky and Wildlife tour on Islay and Jura

A five day adventure based on the isle of Islay.

Islay is famous for it's single malt whisky distilleries and we will tour as many as you would like to sampling the produce as we go.

The whitewashed walls of many famous distilleries greet you as you arrive on the ferry.

Between our malted fun there is plenty more to see, the wildlife is spectacular and depending on the time of year we may encounter many rare and splendid birds such as the Golden Eagle, the White tailed sea Eagle, harriers and in autumn and winter flocks of migrating geese. The largest UK colony of chough live on the island and otters can often be seen along with seals and plenty of red deer

Red deer will make the presence felt when we spend the day on the Isle of Jura. This romantic island has just one road and a distillery and hotel. It is rugged and mountainous and hosted George Orwell who wrote his novel 1984 there in a remote cottage at the end of the road.

There is archaeology to be explored on both islands and we can hunt for stone circles and castles between our sampling of the produce

The tour includes bed and breakfast at a good guest house ferries a guide and transport . Pick up can be arranged to suit either from Glasgow Carlisle or other places by arrangement

We can add a few extra days to this tour and visit Arran as well also extra days will allow us to pick you up from any airport or rail station
